There was an outcry when Rosebank were mothballed in 1993 and much scepticism as to whether they would reopen again.

Until recently, the last official Rosebank whiskies were a handful of aged Rare Malts bottlings (such as the 1981 and the 25 year-old edition) and a few more bottlings under Diageo’s Flora and Fauna label. Young Rosebank is typically intensively flowery, and it is one of the finest exponents of the Lowlands floral and aromatic style. Older expressions can be richer, more structured, and spicy, with superb depth
